Research interests
My research program can be broadly divided into three main research topics: 1) the reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships among closely related species with the purpose to study patterns of colonization, dating evolutionary events, systematics and as an evolutionary framework to understand the evolution of morphological traits, 2) population genetics, genomics and the study of the influence of past evolutionary events on the patterns of current biodiversity of forest species, and 3) the role of developmental and phenotypic plasticitiy on adaptation to habitat types and different pollinators.
