I am an evolutionary biologist and my research program is structured into three main research activities: 1) focusing on applying approaches to discover biodiversity, 2) understand some of the mechanisms behind the origin of biodiversity, and 3) generating knowledge that could contribute to the protection of biodiversity. To achieve these research activities I employ a variety of approaches that span between macro and microevolution processes. Most of my research has been concentrated in plant systems, particularly Leguminosae, but I have also worked with additional systems such as lichens, fungal species and insects.
